Baptisms at St Brendan’s Catholic Church, Shepparton and St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dookie
We warmly welcome families wishing to have their child or children baptised at
St Brendan’s Catholic Church, Shepparton or St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dookie.
St Brendan’s Catholic Church, Shepparton
Baptisms at St Brendan’s Catholic Church are generally held on the fourth Sunday of each month. Please note that there may be some exceptions throughout the year, including January, December and during the Sacramental Program in August.
Families can choose to have their child or children baptised during the 11:00am Sunday Mass or at the 12:30pm Baptism Ceremony. The 12:30pm ceremony is specifically for Baptisms and may include up to 13 families whose children are being baptised that month.
St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dookie
Baptisms at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dookie, are generally celebrated during the 10:00am Sunday Mass. Baptisms are arranged upon request rather than being held on a particular Sunday of each month.
Baptism Preparation
Parents wishing to have their child or children baptised at either St Brendan’s Catholic Church, Shepparton, or St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dookie, are required to attend one Baptism Preparation Meeting.
Preparation meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Pastoral Centre, located directly behind St Brendan’s Catholic Church.
Parents are welcome to attend a preparation meeting in any month prior to their child or children’s Baptism. For example, if your Baptism is planned for July and you are unable to attend the July preparation meeting, you are welcome to attend the meeting in June or an earlier month.
