Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - RCIA

Testimonies from our recent RCIA participants,

"I didn’t have any faith growing up, I mean I believed in someone somewhere but I didn’t know who!! Now I can say I have spoken to Jesus 10,000 times a day since RCIA. He knows everything, I give all my problems to him!!" Karlene

"I had grown up in a family of non believers so coming and learning about faith through RCIA was a whole new world for me, and I had only a few Christian people in my life I could openly talk to about God.

Also heading into church and seeing friendly faces happy to see me, definitely gave me a stronger sense of belonging to Saint Brendan's." Kelly

"I started going back to mass once again. My first mass back, a magical moment that you could not even dream to write about happened. There was Father Jackson giving his homily about welcoming people back to the church after a long period of absence. This indeed was a wow moment and only further confirmed that “God is with me & loves me and I have indeed been following the signs.” This then led me to enquire and take part of the RCIA program. Where I’d like to thank the RCIA team leaders Anthony, Ti & Mary Anne in helping build a deeper relationship and personal understanding with God. Since then, my life has encountered so many beautiful blessings." Jason

Our world today needs to know Jesus Christ, through the pain and confusion of our lives, we need to know that we are loved and cared for by God, it is this hope we need to communicate to the world.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a voyage of discovering, what faith is to learn about Jesus, and possibly to join our faith community, St Brendan’s Catholic Parish. The process is like the opening of a window, which lets people see into the Catholic faith, we learn, we ask questions and share a little of our own life stories, and then to choose is this what I am looking for?

The RCIA process starts in October and flows through until Easter (usually April) when candidates are welcomed into the church at the Easter Vigil Mass.

We have weekly meetings which include Scripture reflections, a focus faith topic, exploring the Sacraments and Rituals of the Catholic Faith. We do not meet during school or Christmas holidays.
