Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

This Refund and Cancellation Policy (the Policy) explains how refunds and cancellations are handled for payments and donations made through this website.

Payments are processed securely through authorised payment providers. By making a payment through this website, you agree to any terms and conditions issued by the authorised payment providers.

This policy applies only to payments made through this website or its online systems.

2. Who we are

This website is operated by SHEPPARTON PARISH (the Parish, we, us, our).

3. Donations

Donations made through this website are voluntary gifts that support the work of the Parish and are generally used promptly for charitable purposes. For this reason, donations are generally non-refundable.

When will the Parish consider a refund?

Refunds may be considered for donations where:

• an incorrect amount was processed;

• a duplicate payment occurred;

• the transaction was unauthorised or was fraudulent;

• a technical or processing error occurred; or

• exceptional circumstances apply.

Requests for a refund of a donation should be made within 30 days of the transaction. Requests for a refund outside of this time period may not be considered.

When won’t the Parish consider a refund?

Refunds are generally not provided for (unless required by law):

• a request made after 30 days of the donation being processed;

• a change of mind;

general dissatisfaction with how the donation was used; and

where refunding the donation will compromise the Parish’s ability to fulfil its charitable purpose.

How to request a refund of a donation?

To request a refund of a donation submitted through this website, the person who made the donation should contact the Parish via the contact details in clause 9 of this Policy. The Parish may require you to provide:

• your full name and contact details;

the receipt number of the donation;

• the amount of the donation;

• the date of the donation;

• the reason for the refund; and

• any other supporting documentation.

How will I be notified if my donation is refunded?

Your request for a refund of the donation will be reviewed within 30 days of you contacting the Parish requesting the refund.

You will be notified in writing of the outcome of your request for a refund.

If your refund is approved, please see clause 7 of this Policy for processing times for refunds.

4. Payments for Services or Activities

Where a payment relates to an event, registration, booking or other Parish activity arranged through this website, refunds or cancellations are subject to the conditions communicated at the time of registration and applicable consumer protection laws.

If a service is not provided as agreed, you may be entitled to a refund, credit or rescheduling. You should contact the Parish to discuss your options.

5. Cancellations

Cancellations requested in advance may be eligible for a full or partial refund. Late cancellations may incur fees or may not be refundable, depending on the circumstances and costs already incurred by the Parish.

Please contact the Parish as soon as possible if your plans change to discuss cancelling an activity where payment has been made.

6. Recurring Payments

Recurring donations or payments initiated through this website can be cancelled at any time by contacting the Parish via the contact details in clause 9 of this policy. Future payments will stop once the cancellation is processed.

7. Processing Time

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used to make the payment where possible and typically take 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

If your refund is approved and you do not receive the refund within the time period stated, please contact the Parish.

8. Tax

You must not claim a tax credit or apply for a tax refund under the New Zealand Tax Administration Act 1994 or any other applicable law in respect of any donation that is refunded to you. To the extent that you have already claimed a tax credit prior to the donation being refunded, you will be responsible for contacting the Inland Revenue Department or Australian Taxation Office (as applicable) to correct the claim.
